United Way of Western Kentucky PALS Program
For the past 8 months, several employees from Lake Chem have been volunteering at local elementary schools through the United Way of Western Kentucky PALS program. These employees were paired with a student as a one-on-one mentor to assist academically and provide reading support, and to foster relationships.
We had volunteers at 3 different elementary schools in McCracken County, and we are incredibly grateful to have built relationships with the Family Resource Youth Services Center (FRYSC) officers at each school. Crystal Jackson was a PAL at Hendron-Lone Oak Elementary, Jennifer Morton was a PAL at Concord Elementary, and Jessica Adams, Kaci Massey, and Brittany Mathis were PALS at Reidland Elementary. We were able to see firsthand the impact FRYSC officers have on the children in our community, and we are thankful to have partnered with United Way for this amazing opportunity!
