Our History
1971 June 16
Lake Chem Federal Credit Union was founded to serve the employees of the B. F. Goodrich Chemical plant located in Calvert City, Kentucky, and was federally chartered in June 1971.
2005 August 18
Lake Chem Federal Credit Union was approved by NCUA to change its charter from a common bond charter to a community charter, allowing them to offer services to the whole of Marshall County. At that time, the Board of Directors changed the credit union’s name to Lake Chem Community Federal Credit Union.
2006 March
The credit union opened a branch in Draffenville to better serve our members in the Marshall County community.
2011 October
Lake Chem’s charter was expanded to include Calloway County. The first Murray branch opened in October 2011.
2025 May
Lake Chem Federal Credit Union was approved by the NCUA to change its charter to serve all persons who live, work, worship, attend school, or conduct business with any legal entity in Western Kentucky. The counties Lake Chem now serves include Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, and Trigg Counties, Kentucky.

The goal of Lake Chem Community Federal Credit Union is to offer affordable financial services that our members want and need at competitive rates while maintaining the credit union’s financial stability.
